It’s raining, it’s pouring and while it may be drizzling down the window panes, you don’t want your body to look like it’s raining tan. Here’s how to avoid looking like Christina Aguilera.
If you get caught in the rain, step in a puddle or get dripped on when you still have your spray tan bronzer on, remember it’s easier to fix a wet spray tan disaster than a dry one. Don’t rub your tan, but use a clean cloth (preferably a towel or facecloth) to gently blot the excess/running tan. This will lift up the bulk on the disaster, and should allow you to buff and blend the tan so it can hardly be seen. If required, use a little bit of moisturiser to make it easier. This will create a mini self tan and should allow you to cover the drama.
It is always critical to make sure you have washed the bronzer off after the desired processing time. When bathing you need to make sure the water in the shower runs clear so you know that you have removed all the bronzer. I always recommend having atleast 2 showers before wearing a lighter coloured garment – ie a bridal gown as you don’t want any spray tan rubbing off on your wedding dress. And a final time If your spray tan technician is spraying you and you are looking like Christina Aguilera, then your technician is most definitely overspraying you. You are going to take forever to dry, and a going to risk a streaky runny tan. Ask your sprayer to reduce the flow, you should see a light mist being applied to your skin, and you definitely should look like you’ve been standing in the rain. Poor Christina, I hope next time she chooses a celebrity spray tanner who can help her skin look as amazing as her voice! Next time you’re in Australia Christina – look me up xx
